Jeff Wagner is an entrepreneur, motivational speaker, job coach, recruitment solutions consultant, former tennis, triathlon, marathon and beach volleyball athlete in the Tampa Bay area, since coming to the University of South Florida in the 1980’s from East Tennessee. He has worked for top companies in management including Procter & Gamble, Kforce Professional Staffing and Monster Worldwide. Diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in 2003, Wagner began receiving treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center, the Hospital where the founding father of his undergraduate fraternity, Alpha Tau Omega, was started by H. Lee Moffitt in the 1960’s about the time Jeff was born. Four years after his initial diagnosis, his cancer returned in the form of a tumor wrapped around his spine. In 2007, he was matched with a bone marrow donor and received a stem cell transplant. He has needed over a 100 units of blood from the Florida Blood services, 1,000+ chemotherapy treatments, dozens of surgeries, and more. Although, he is now paralyzed from the chest down, he remains cancer free, and Wagner’s cancer fight has sparked his enthusiasm to get more people to register for the National Bone Marrow Program. Through his passion in Believing to Always Finish Strong,’ Wagner and his German donor that saved his life, are encouraging hundreds to attend a “Be The Match” bone marrow donor or blood drive throughout the Tampa Bay area.
